Home Improvement you can take to the BANK!!!! When remodeling your home often times we spend to much money over improving for the mere fact we want what everyone else has (keep up with the Jones). If you have money to burn that's ok but, most of us don't - although we spend it anyway. I am here to say take two steps back, take your heart out of the equation and make a business decision. Ask yourself... Will I honestly get all that money back if I sell the property in a few years? (doubtful)
Lets talk about kitchen remodeling my favorite subject. If you want to take your home improvement MA to the bank what we need to do is stop being so emotional! This means to draw the line some place. Knowing we do not want to half bake it so lets be realistic. If you have a newer home, 30 years old or less, you probably have some sort of drywall, semi updated wiring and plumbing. If all works well ...leave well enough alone as you have just avoided a complete gut. How did it feel to save money? Great! I am thinking. Now lets look at the cabinets. Maybe your cabinets are not so bad. Do you like the layout? If you do, maybe we can keep them. Is there a soffit? Can we remove it? Is it hiding pipes? We could add crown molding to the old cabinets to make them look taller and much more modern.
What about changing the lighting fixtures? How about a new tile back splash or some new counter tops or even a new floor? Don't forget the appliances. Boy! there's a lot to think about but there's also opportunity to create a smart remodel. So make your choices wisely and happy home owning!
